Home Connections has awarded a growing talent in social housing with the coveted Best Student Project on Allocations and Lettings award at De Montford University graduation week. The social enterprise tech company sponsored the award as part of its social commitment to nurturing new talent in housing.
Head of Business Joe McLoughlin presented the award to 26 year old Jo Evans. Jo’s dissertation focussed on the challenging and topical issue of the use of choice-based lettings systems by older households. Jo passed her MSc Housing Studies with merit. He says; “The wellbeing of social tenants is making headlines at the moment with the latest debate shifting to louise casey’s report on troubled families. So its timely that we’re honouring the importance of research in the choice based lettings domain. CBL has a key role to play in social mobility.” Jo says “I am inspired by the opportunities provided by choice based lettings. It has never been more important that social housing provides a platform for social mobility.”
